Usually the best idea is to ignore them. Sometimes the prolific ones get reported to Snopes or other such sites, so that people may be made aware of them.

My boyfriend got that e-mail, and sent the kid an e-mail asking her to prove she wasn’t a spammer. However it bounced saying “mailbox full”, which is not surprising.
